I finally turned in my PFCI application!

I did it!

I finished and turned in my PFCI application! In all transparency, I have been saying I would do it every year for the past three years! LOL. Somehow, every year it fails to get done. I don’t know about you, but the New Year always comes at me like a ton of bricks. I don’t really catch my breath until after Valentine’s Day. Who here feels me on this?

Huge big thank you to Stephanie with SAF who sent me a sweet little poke of an email a week before the deadline! (I am super thankful to you girl!) We had recently been in touch because of the member spotlight feature they did with me. I would have completely looked at the calendar next week and been like “oh, how the crap is it March already?”!!! 😂

What is PFCI?

PFCI stands for Professional Floral Communicator International. It requires quite a vigorous application, bio, headshots, lists of presentations you’ve given, and a video presentation between 15-30 minutes with proper techniques and professional commentary. Yes, it is another one of those alphabets designations. But this one is putting it out there to the world that you’re a professional speaker and educator. They will place you on the list of hirable floral industry speakers on the SAF website once you pass the evaluation process and are included. Here is their web page to read more about the application process.

I am sharing my application publicly on YouTube (along with some outtakes for you.) Here’s the application video.

Bring on Spring PFCI application video.

I am all ears if you have critiques on my video! I have a lot to work on, but my goals with applying for these credentials are:

“PFCI has been a goal as I step into the world of educating more. I will become a more attractive candidate for speaking engagements with this qualification. Building on the fact that the world of marketing is turing to video more and more, this is a very important credential to prove the skills needed to not only speak publically, but on video as well.

PFCI will further growth of my network in the industry. I know that building relationships and giving back to the floral community is going to keep me passionate about floristry. I have been taking more strides to get in front of my peers and put myself out there to be a leader and educator in the industry.“

Are you thinking of applying?

You totally should! Here’s the link to the application. Do go visit https://safnow.org for the instructions! You’re not going to grow without some uncomfortableness. Push yourself forward and step into roles you dream about. If it’s not your cup of tea, hire me as a speaker LOL or recommend me to a friend hosting a floral industry educational event! I am excited about the path 2023 has in store for me! Lots of fun to come! Go check out the blooper reels for some laughs. Sign up for the newsletter if you want these blogs in your inbox first.
